Help & Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to get you up and running. Still stuck? Email us below.

What is B&R Terminal?

A market-intelligence dashboard for large-cap U.S. stocks: a daily morning and post-close brief, live quotes, a sector heatmap, an editable watchlist, a portfolio tracker, per-ticker dossiers, and news + rumor tracking — all in one terminal-style view. It is an information tool only, not financial advice.

Do I need an API key?

Yes — B&R Terminal runs on your own free Finnhub API key, so your data usage is yours alone. Grab one in ~30 seconds at finnhub.io/register, then paste it into the “LIVE DATA” bar at the top of the terminal and click SAVE & CONNECT. Your key stays in your browser; we never see or store it.

Why do I see “—” or “no data”?

Almost always one of three things: (1) you haven’t connected a Finnhub key yet — paste it in the LIVE DATA bar; (2) you hit the free tier’s rate limit (60 calls/min) — wait a few seconds and click ↻ REFRESH; or (3) the market is closed, so some values show the last available reading. A paid Finnhub plan removes the rate limits.

How do I add or change stocks?

On the Markets tab, use the watchlist editor to add or remove tickers, and create multiple named watchlists. On the Lookup tab, type any U.S. ticker (e.g. AAPL, NVDA) for a full dossier with chart, fundamentals, analyst ratings, earnings, insider activity, and news.

What’s in the daily brief?

Yesterday’s recap (indexes, winners/losers, sectors, earnings, analyst moves), macro & geopolitics, a large-cap monitor, social/rumor sentiment, and a ranked outlook for the next session — refreshed before the open and again after the close.

Is any of this financial advice?

No. Everything in B&R Terminal is for information only. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security. Social posts are unverified sentiment, not fact, and are labeled as such. Always verify against primary sources and consider speaking with a licensed professional before making decisions.

How do I use an access code?

If you were given a beta access code, sign up on the home page, choose “Have an access code?”, enter your email, password, and the code — you’ll go straight into the terminal with no payment.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Go to your Account page and click “Manage billing” to open the secure Stripe portal, where you can cancel anytime. Access continues until the end of your current billing period.

Is my data private?

Your Finnhub key lives only in your browser and is never sent to us. Your saved watchlists, portfolio, and alerts are stored to your account so they persist across devices. We don’t sell data or run ads.

Still have issues?

We usually reply within a day. Tell us what you were doing and what you saw.
